ROLI Noise App – Make Expressive Music for FREE!

You may or may not have heard of the ROLI Seaboard. If you haven’t, it’s a revolutionary new type of keyboard instrument which enables you to be much more expressive than you can be with a traditional keyboard. But now, ROLI also have an iOS app called Noise. Take a look:

So it gives you an on-screen version of a miniature Seaboard, which you can use to play sounds in very expressive ways. You can glide between notes, sweep the filter, control the volume of notes, and much more.

Here is a video review by Sweetwater Sound of a version called Noise 5D:

What I really like is how you can manipulate two different notes in completely different ways. So you can pitch bend one note without pitch bending the other, or you can even glide them in opposite directions. You definitely can’t do that with a standard keyboard. I also like how you can add an X-Y pad, which kind of turns it into a KAOS Pad.

And yet…it’s FREE!

So once again, it just goes to show, there are more and more ways for people to start making their own music without having to spend much money if any.

Anyway, what do you think of this great free music making app? Why not let me know in the comments section below.

All the best,
Marcus.

Wow… this is one cool music App.. Most importantly, It’s free… 🙂 Can’t wait to get my hands to try on it. Hopefully it’s not gonna to hard to handle. How’s the feature by the way? Is it similar to all those music app where we can get in I tunes store?

This is something totally new. The way you can express yourself is revolutionary, really. Being able to gllide notes independent of each other, as well as change the filter, you really can’t do that with anything else.

    Marcus,

That App is Amazing and it’s Free!!!
Wow, that’s even better. I don’t have an IPHONE but do you know if they are planning on making that app available for Android? I would love to use it!
Though I’ve never learned how to play a keyboard that would be perfect to start learning.

That’s a really good question, Theresa. It looks like it is only an iOS app at the moment, but you are right, if they were to make an Android version that would make it available to many more people. Thank you for your comment. Have a great day.
