My Music from 2003 – England in the Sunshine

I was just listening back to an old piece of music I made in 2003. Have a listen:

I think the software I used for this was Cubase, and the sounds were SoundFonts. I used to use SoundFonts a lot back then. They were an easy way to load sounds into your soundcard for use within your MIDI sequencing software. All the sounds were sampled, so you could find SoundFonts of almost any instrument out there.

But although I had access to a lot of sounds using this method, it didn’t have the amount of flexibility you get with something like Propellerhead Reason, where you not only can use sampled sounds but can tweak them in endless ways with effects, and you also get access to built-in software synthesizers like Subtractor Analog Synth, Thor Polysonic Synthesizer, and Malström Graintable Synthesizer.
