Imogen Heap’s Musical Gloves – Make Music With Your Hands!

If you already make electronic music, your main way of getting your ideas down is either to play them via a MIDI keyboard or to draw notes into your DAW. But what if you could use your hand gestures in mid air? Take a look at this:

Using these revolutionary gloves, you can control more than just the notes. You can change the filter, move between different sounds, start and stop an arpeggiator, pitch bend the sound, and probably more.

What do you think of these gloves? If they were affordable, would you be tempted to get them and use them to make music? Or would you prefer something like the Expressive E Touché? Why not let me know in the comments section below.

All the best,
Marcus.

    Hey Marcus,

These gloves look amazing! If they were made available for everyone, I’d hands down buy them and start creating music. They actually reminded me of the film “Minority Report”, of course, lol.

It’s pretty weird seeing how technology has advanced over the past couple of decades. I bet we will be teleporting all over the Earth in no time 🙂

Yes, I think the key thing is price. If they end up being reasonably priced, I can see that a lot of performers might make use of them. But it might take a few years before they get to that stage.

Fascinating! I can’t even imagine what something like this would cost. The leap forward these would make for more people to try their hands at creating new music is inspiring. It looks like you would need a lot of other equipment to integrate with the gloves in order to actually make music with them. What fun.

Yes, I’m a little bit fuzzy on the details of how these gloves would actually link up to the computer.
