Free Electronic Music Software

Of course, we all like free stuff, don’t we? So I’m sure you are wondering if there is any good free electronic music software. Well, you’re in luck, because there is. Of course, the free software is never quite as good as the software that costs money, but you can still do some pretty cool things with this free software.

AudioTool

A free online music making program. Yes, that’s right, you just visit the website in your browser and then you can get straight to making music.

LMMS – Linux Multimedia Studio (runs on Windows too)

Tracktion 4

Although Tracktion is now up to version 6, which costs money, you can get version 4 for free.

Audacity

Audacity-logo-r-450wide-whitebg

This is a great free program for editing and mixing audio. I sometimes use this myself.

Noisemaker

A great free software synth that you can make some weird and wonderful sounds with.

Crystal

Another interesting free software synthesizer.

Tyrell N6

This was originally intended to be a hardware synth, but the product never actually ended up getting made. Instead, they released this free software version.

Dexed

This is a software version of a Yamaha DX7.

Mixxx

A free DJ mixing program.

AudioSauna

I hope you found something you like among these free electronic music programs. If you have any comments of questions, please post them below and I will reply as soon as I can.

Happy music making!
Marcus.

Hello Marcus, wow nice videos you got there. I love music. I used to be in a band and I always sing in the bathroom. LOL! Really nice. I have literally no clue about electronic music but as soon as I have saw this page of yours I instantly developed interest about it.

Wow the electronic music software looks good. I think anyone who enjoys making music would be interested in this. I used to be interested in making music when I was a teenager, I bought (can’t remember then name of it) but it was similar to this software and cost me a fortune! Wish I had come across this when I was younger.(although this software was probably not around then) would have saved me loads

Yes, that’s the thing. These days, with the internet and so many developers, there is so much available free now. For me it was much more frustrating back in the 90s trying to make music. I really wish I’d had all the options you have no back then. It would have made things so much easier.
