Behringer HPS3000 Headphones Review – Great Value for Money

Welcome to my Behringer HPS3000 Headphones review. If you are looking for some great sounding headphones for a low price, you can’t beat these. Although they are not quite professional quality headphones, they are probably the best you are going to get for this kind of price.

They have great sound quality, particularly in the bass range, and don’t distort at high volumes. However, they are cheaply made, so don’t drop them or put them in a bag where they might get crushed.

Who are the Behringer HPS3000 Headphones Designed For?

These headphones are best suited to someone who makes music but doesn’t want to spend a huge amount of money on expensive headphones. They are not quite professional quality, so you shouldn’t rely on them when mixing your music. Having said that, though, you shouldn’t really mix just using headphones anyway.

Great sound quality

The reviews from customers vary a bit on this, but I think it really depends on what you are looking for. They seem to offer quite a flat response, which means that you hear sounds more like they actually sound, rather than the headphones making it sound as good as possible. This is better if you are making music, but perhaps not so good if you want to listen to music. However, there is one area that this is not the case, and that is:

Heavy bass

Many users report that these are quite bass-heavy, which again can be a good or bad thing depending on your particular view. If you like to listen to music that has good bass, of course, this will be ideal for you. However, if you are doing studio mixes, maybe there will be too much bass and you won’t put the bass high enough in the mix. But then, saying that, you shouldn’t really rely on headphones for mixing anyway.

No distortion at high volumes

Sometimes with headphones and speakers, the sound quality can suffer once you turn them up quite loud. This is not a problem with these headphones. However, let me just issue with a warning: if you frequently listen to your music very loud on headphones, you are likely to damage your hearing.

Great value for money

Let’s be clear, these are not professional quality headphones, but for the price they are very good quality. In some sense, you get what you pay for, but many users say that you actually get a lot more than you pay for.

Cheap build quality

Many users say that these headphones have a somewhat cheap construction quality to them. they are made of plastic and feel like they might break easily if you dropped them or if they were to get crushed when in a bag.

Not quite audiophile quality sound

To be honest, you are never going to get total professional level sound quality at this price point. So, if that’s what you are looking for, you will probably need to aim a bit higher.

Not as comfortable as they look

It’s fair to say that when you look at the photo of these headphones they do look nice and comfortable. However, users report that they don’t feel great on their heads like they don’t quite fit properly or something.

The best thing about these headphones is the price. Many people say you will not get better sound quality at this price point. That does not mean they are the best headphones ever, it just means that if you can only afford to buy headphones of this price, these are the ones to choose.

    Hey Marcus,
I’m not a headphone kind of guy but my brother is and I’m thinking of buying one set for his birthday. Everyone wants me to buy him Beats by Dre but I think that its too common.

Behringer looks cool and cost-saving too but I’m a bit worried on the comfort ability though, does it tend to hurt your ears when you wear in for long?

Thank you for your comment, Riaz. I don’t think they actually hurt, they are just not as comfortable as many other pairs of headphones.
